
The famed WWII Army Air Corps pilot, Mr. Dale Dyer, will be awarded the Gold Distinguished Service Medal (serial number 1806) on Monday, August 5, at 1 pm. A ceremony will be hosted by Mr. Rick Skelton and Ms. Susie Council at the Inola at Blue Ridge Colonial Resort on route 5 (near Mercier Orchards) by the US Presidential Service Center (USPSC). Mr. Martin CJ Mongiello will present the Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) and jewel box as the CEO of the US Presidential Service Center in the authentic colonial American Chapel with the ringing of the bells. The public is welcomed as friends in fellowship.
Captain Dyer is the famed Fannin County historian, author, and columnist as well as a 458th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force, Second Division member. He was born in 1919. His contributions to American history are legendary. The public welcome as friends in fellowship.
